Claire Harper Trio

Claire’s uplifting voice and piano style have earned her critical acclaim throughout the UK. She has established herself as a rising star, regularly performing on the London and southeast jazz circuit.
Her trio will be performing a mixture of jazz from the American Song Book, ballads, easy listening classics and even some jazz takes on modern pop classics.

Clare Harper

Originally from Essex, Claire is one of the UK’s most requested acts. Her influences include jazz, soul, and pop, and her distinctive vocal style ensures a unique reinterpretation of any song that she performs. A 'musician’s musician', Claire is equally at home working solo as a singer-pianist or taking the role of lead singer in her own ensemble.
Of her singing, Claire says that she loves to connect with a song and really enjoys the journey of bringing out an artist’s emotions through her own performance. Recently referred to as the British Diana Krall, Claire features among her repertoire a Doris Day homage and is currently working on a similar show about the life and work of Carole King.
From garden parties, weddings and corporate events to cruises and festivals, Claire’s ever-increasing repertoire includes songs from, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, James Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Coldplay, Eva Cassidy, Adele, and Nina Simone. She is currently in the process of writing her debut album of original material.

Zak Barrett
As a saxophonist, Zak has appeared with various artists such as Mick Hucknall, Narada Michael Walden, Bernie Marsden, Ashley Slater (Freak Power), Nick Kershaw, Peter Andre and ‘the Foundations’ and has also supported artists such as Mica Paris and Martha Reeves. As a performing jazz musician, he is a member of "the Fellowship" band which features Renowned guitarist, Guthrie Govan and has performed in various venues and festivals in both Europe and the United States.

Andy Staples
is a regular contributor to the Essex jazz scene and has played with many of the county's excellent musicians. As well as playing live he also writes and records for "Rhythm" magazine and teaches throughout the county.
